A deposit allows you to bid on up to four online properties at a time across the Auction.com marketplace and signals to sellers that you’re a serious, ready-to-transact buyer.

In some cases, select properties may require all registrants regardless of past Auction.com purchases to submit a deposit. To unlock access, simply deposit $1,000 during registration or in advance through your Wallet in the dashboard.

Your $1,000 registration deposit is fully refundable. You can always request a refund from your Wallet if you're not in an active transaction. But most of the time, we’ll handle it for you automatically:

Buyers who have not previously completed a successful purchase through Auction.com are required to place a deposit before participating in certain property transactions.

You can begin participating immediately after completing registration and submitting your deposit. Deposits can be submitted in your Wallet today or during the registration process.

No. One deposit of $1,000 provides access to multiple property transactions requiring a deposit. You can register for up to 4 property opportunities simultaneously using the same deposit.

You can request a refund of your deposit in the Wallet section. Simply click the ‘Request Refund’ button and follow the instructions. Refund eligibility is determined based on your adherence to our Participation Terms.

Refunds are typically processed within 10 business days after your request, depending on your original payment method. We also process automatic refunds in two cases:
  • If your deposit remains in your Wallet for 150 days and not in an active transaction, we’ll refund it automatically.
  • If you successfully close on a transaction, your deposit will be automatically refunded shortly after closing is confirmed.

If your deposit is eligible for a refund, processing can take up to 10 business days depending on the payment method.

If you are selected to move forward with a purchase but fail to complete the transaction in accordance with the Participation Terms, the full deposit amount will be retained as liquidated damages, not as a penalty.

Refunds are typically issued to the original payment method (credit card, debit card, or bank account) used for the deposit. If the funds have been in your Wallet for more than 180 days, you will need to provide a new credit or debit card for the refund.
No. A refund will return all the funds in your Wallet, as described above.

No. Deposit funds cannot be applied to earnest money or any other costs associated with a property transaction.
